need demo recording help on COD1

I read the topic on how to record demos on COD1, I have read it at least 10 times. yet I still cant seem to get it to work. when I typ e in the /record demoname do I type it in the console?

Yes, enter the console ~ key, type "/record demoname" demoname being what you want it called, no quotes
It will start record, wneter console again and type "/stoprecord" no quotes again
The demo will save to your "Call of Duty/main/demo" folder
You will know it is recording, because in the lower left of the screen it will display the file size

do I have to change my game file name like when you use "all guns cheats"??

I would say no, because I just launched a shortcut and it is "C:\Games\Activision\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" on my comp and it worked fine for me

well mine is "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition\CoDSP.exe" could the problem be @ the end where it says CoDSP ???
cause when I tried recording it would not hsow the file size in the bottom Left corner. and in the console it said "unreconized command" I think.

I don't think you can do a demo from single player, not the regular way, and I wouldn't know any other way, and I did just try it, and I get the unknown cmd record as well sorry

Are you planning on recording on SP or MP? As far as I know it's the same for both, but I wouldn't be sure.

It aint working to record a demo from SP. But what you can do instead, is use fraps, or some of the other 3rd party programs out there
