OK, well I've downloaded them despite the fact that I can't play cod2 on this pc... I'll be able to watch them on saturday before I go to the liverpool match, although might watch them sooner if I go to the lan before then (doubtful).

I know you guys don't know me from anyone and you probably get a lot of Trolls on your board.

However, I am the owner of the server that the demo's were taken from. It's a pure dedicated server with no cheats on and I only allowed these two young gentlemen to attempt this stuff so that I could see it for myself and then possibly take actions in the future if anyone else attempts to use it to their advantage. "God" has been a regular on my server for the past 2 years and has never cheated. "Mag Doom" is relatively new but I have never known him to cheat either. Last night I was playing while they successfully completed the jumps in both Dawnville and Railyard. I can't jump for sh!t but I was able to use the glitch to my advantage once one of them had jumped out of the map. The jumps they made are not very easy as you probably know so I don't see this glitch in the game as being a serious problem for many servers but it's good to be aware of it if some one decides to try and cheat that way. God can echo my feelings that I don't stand for cheating and even using jumps to an advantage on my server gets you a swift kick as a warning. Any further exploits used to gain an advantage after the warning gets a ban. These guys seem genuine in wanting to make this thing public so that no one can ruin the game with it.

At any rate, I just wanted to put in my two cents in their defense. I'm confused...

Ok, so now you show your proof, but im not 100% on it... not because I dont believe you, just because you didnt explain wtf was going on?

So because someone is falling, you can spawn anywhere? How, that just doesnt make sense...?
What has having 2 americans and 1 german got to do with anything?

And also, Shrub, there are no trolls here, only admins (+ emperor)... And I am not trolling, I am just questioning the validity of your the so called glitch that makes you spawn anywhere...

So, "God:)" or "-Mag-DooM" could you please maybe give us a little more info? Or if you wish, maybe you could join some of us on the CoD2 server (if Grom doesnt mind passwording it up?).

One player jumps out of the map and goes into a never ending fall into nothingness. During that time the other players on the same team can spectate fly around to whatever spot they want and then when they choose the same team that the person in the never ending fall is on, they appear right where they were spectate flying. Tops of buildings, right behind an opposing player, etc.

Then if some one kills you, your next spawn appears right behind the player that killed you (if kill cam is on) so you can immediately shoot the person that shot you, in the back. Or you can go back to spectate mode, fly around, and appear some where else.

While this exploit is active, at least 1 player on that team has to be in that never ending fall. It can change who it is also, if you simply follow the person who is out of the map and then spawn right next to them. At that time there will be 2 people out of the map and the first person who initiated the exploit is free to spawn in a new location. As soon as there are no more people out of the map, the spawning rules now make sense in the game code and you are limited to the range of the map.

I can't really explain why it works, only that perhaps something in the game code gets completely confused about where it is okay to spawn players that are new to the team. When the first player is out of the map and in an endless fall, the rest of the players on that team don't have any rules governing where they spawn. It's simply, whatever is on their screen at the time that they choose to spawn. They can appear right where an opposing player is, where a team mate is, or where ever they spectate-fly to.

I agree, they didn't explain how it works very well, probably because they are still trying to fully grasp WHY it is happening without having a great understanding of game code. I don't have a good understanding of it either, so perhaps what I wrote above will better explain what is going on. If not, ask another question and I will try and help clear it up.

As far as the number of allies vs. axis, I think that's irrelevant except that it helps keep the auto team balance from moving the player who is out of the map from his current position (in that fall)....thereby deactivating the exploit.

Similar with the odd number of players theory vs. even number of players. I haven't experienced that to be true or untrue, but if it is true then it must be something deep in the code that allows it to happen with an odd number of players.

I have tried this will God and a friend and it does work, its hard to understand at first and its mind bobbling how it even works in the first place but it does.

look.I have no clue how it works just that it dose, i was jumping on The Sauce and i jumped out of the map...i got on xfire and was yelling at mag to spectate me, and then by chance it was all set up perfect he spectated me then joined my team and he fell to his death. he then he respawnd where he fell, went to spectate again and figured out what was going on.

Dunno excactly how it works.
I tried with luke and emp b4, but we couldnt get it to work.
god came in the server and got it to work, for me also.
I checked the server. and it was a modless server..

I am sorry, I sent the demos, a walkthrough and a bunch of screenshots of the glitch in use to Ownia. He/she said they'd forward it to another one of the team because they could not watch the demos due to no CoD2. If you want to know how to do the glitch, msg me on xfire. I'll show u Ingame. We currently have no idea WHY the glitch works. All we know is it works, and its easiest to activate the glitch with 3 people in server; 2 Allied, 1 Axis. It is very confusing, it takes a lot of practice to get it right (TRUST ME... took god and I 3 hours to get it to work after we discovered it). Now that we know how to glitch works, we will gladly show it to anyone. Just message one of us on Xfire, or E-mail one of us.
