CoD crashing when I get into servers

Post by Grom » March 10th, 2006, 11:49 pm

I got a little problem here.. When I get into servers on CoD (jump, normal, whatever) CoDMP.exe crashes after about 5 seconds, and return to the desktop. This problem doesn't happen if I play on a local server (/devmap mp_***)

I have tried to reinstall several times, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. I have got the problem for about 2 months or something. I cant remember to have done anything special or anything that may cause the problem. There's no mods etc in the CoD folder.

Anyone who knows a solution or something?

Backround programs?

Have you looked at IW support?

Did you oc your graphics card? could be the problem.

Check DirectX

Memory Gone bad?

Overheat? check your cpu and gpu temp.

What kind of programs you mean? I got msn, xfire, antivirus, firewall and programs like that going in the background, but that has never been a problem before.

Link?

Will try to update my drivers, directx etc and see if it works

Yes, my graphic card is overclocked. Normal speed: 475:450 OC-speed: 530:540
But I cant see why this can be my problem. CoD2 and other games runs just perfect, so why shouldn't CoD1? And it works perfectly fine if I play on a local server I host myself. So therfore I thought it couldn't be my hardware gone bad.

Not exactly true. Remember on a MP server your PC gets more stress.

Had to remove links (didnt view my preview post :/)

Google Activision Support.

Sure, but this is certainly not my problem. It crashes even if I get into a empty server. And, CoD 2 and other heavier games works great.

Will take a look at the link you gave me, and see if it's solves my problem. The link is kinda fucked up btw :P
