It's not exactly the same... what you want to do is run along the platform you are jumping off, at right angles to where you want to jump, then turn right/left at the last minute and jump.

Demo of Luke jumping 260:

Obviously if you haven't grasped the basics of strafe jumping then it's probably best that you don't start off trying to jump 250+

Practice is all i can say, as Peds say try something like 235+ although they are easy.. just try them eventually ull get better being able to crack 250 or maybe the big 260!

up to 255units can be done using normal strafe jumps (see my tutorial on strafe jumping page its the 1st one) for 255+ you need to use the 90 degree strafes and the tutorial for that is at the bottom of the strafe jumping page

lol nice, u made it just in time before the map ended :P didn't look like u was gonna make it...i've had a drop in form lately, can't do 260 or 259 anymore :x
I've started strafe jumping to the right now and i've managed 258, so i think i'll start jumping that way for awhile and see if it improves.

nice .Koek!e' :)

I just thought, i wonder if gap training would be as popular if it weren't for me :P

Might be wrong, but i need an ego boost

then again, i think leveller was the first to make a gap training type map, displaying the units for gaps, and thats where we got the idea for this kind of jump map

I just posted my best jumps on the forum and maybe got more ppl into it :)

yesssssssssssss

was very lucky ^^

but i think with the last jump , maybe, i get 259 or 260. cause i think the jump was more gaps then 258 :?:

maybe somebody makes a map where u can jump and then the map says how much units this jump was ?
my avatar is just a joke ^^

I'm pretty sure thats not possible, coz if it was then i'm sure one of our best scripters (Drofder and Leveller) would've done that.

But often when u make that big jump it appears that you made it quite easy, but appearances can be deceiving...i'm sure sometimes you might jump a unit or 2 earlier than needed, so you could've actually jumped slightly further than it appears. But you'll just have to try the next one tho :P
