Yeah my brother did something slightly similar involving cheese on toast and getting distracting by a video game, but he ended up setting the oven on fire as well.

I managed to fill the entire house with smoke even before cooking, we used to have one of those smaller ovens (such like this one http://sp.life123.com/bm.pix/toaster-oven.s600x600.jpg) and as I was heating it up I forgot that I had put my microwave plate, which is usually from glass but we had a black one which is similar to those you put in the oven itself, was ontop of the oven which ended up burning itself entirely into the top of the oven lol.
