That was done over 50 years ago and is essentially the same thing.

Anyone could have jumped in the stratos suit and lived. not that impressive.

\What i was trying to say, is that their was no skill in what he did... one could argue he had alot of balls, but all he did was jump. chute would have been automated.

I asked a couple of people whether they understood how to take control of a flat spin while travelling at over 700mph - sadly nobody knew.

If a beginner was to jump from a super-sized balloon on the edge of space, where air resistance is minimal, they would go into a spin (as the guy did) and would probably spin so fast the amount of G's on the body would pop their eye balls and send their bodily fluids out through their skin - luckily the suit has a safety device to force a chute deployment... but what would be the point of sending someone all that way just for the chute to be deployed at the beginning...

You are honestly a fool if you believe that skydiving is a 'no-training-required' activity.

True, but it doesn't take skill to fall and hit the ground. It's just gravity

Indeed, I actually stopped watching it about 1 minute 30 in because I'm only at the beginning of season 3 and didn't want any spoilers, but I bookmarked it to watch later. I was hoping that all the current series would last me until at least the end of first semester, but definitely gonna be finished with it before Christmas :P
