The only use in Excel is to scroll the page without leaving the cell, while using the arrow keys.
I struggle to believe you do not use the scroll functions on your mouse to do exactly the same thing.

The reason XFire uses scroll lock, is because the key is practically obsolete and therefore a good option for binding.
ALT and SHIFT keys are used often for shortcuts and many games may have a different combination of keys, but I have never come across a game that has scroll lock :P

It's funny, I got a laptop for college and it doesn't have a scroll lock key. I found it out when someone xfired me in game and I was like how the fuck do I reply :?
