need graphics card?

my computer has 6 gigabytes of ram, is quad core with a speed of 2.9ghz. i believe it can run cod 4, do you have any idea where i can get a good enough graphics card? cause i want a graphics card... but i dont want to go broke for it

Lets see here... If your willing to play will with low- medium graphic settings then you don't need anything all that powerful. My old graphics card, the ati Radeon HD 4850 from sapphire did the job quite nicely. it was able to reach 333 on all maps with fullbright enabled at a resolution of 1280x1024. The card you choose depends on how you want the game to look while you play. It also depends on the resolution of your monitor. So if you could plz let me know these things, i could help you further. I got the (ati) amd 6870 now for $205 and i get up to 900 fps on nearly max settings on codjumper maps @ 1600x900. My old 4850 was $100 at the time. you could probably get one for around that price. Or you could go a little more powerful and go for the 5770 at $130-170. At this price range, i recommend the nvidia gtx 460. it is a powerhouse at the $180 range. easily reaching 700 fps on codjumper.

^ I have the ATI Radeon HD4850 512Mb, really good value for money. I can get 333fps on most public servers on lowest graphics @1280x720. Can play with near 125fps on max graphics.
