Can't join COD4 server *HELP*

Hi guys, first post.

I used to play a few jump mods on my XP partition a while ago. Now I'm forced to use OS X for COD4 which has been fine. I can play promod and that so there's nothing wrong with my COD4 directory.

I tried to join codjumper #13 and it starts to download a few files. 1 file will download fine but when the next one starts, it gets stuck on "estimating"

So I've downloaded the map that's on the server from this website and put it in Mods/codjumper3_1/ as well as Mods/capt_jumper/ and when I try to join the server then, it starts downloading another map (even though the server is still on the map that I've just manually downloaded).

So I tried opening COD4 MP and clicking Mods, then capt_jumper and then trying to join the server and it's no different.
I tried Mods, then codjumper3_1 and it's the same.

Can anyone suggest anything to me? Or is there maybe a bulk download I can do to manually add to my directory?

I realise I can start new server and initiate the maps from there, that works fine but I want to be able to do the maps alongside other people.

The maps need to go in a folder called "usermaps"

oh i forgot to mention that all the maps that I've downloaded started off in the usermaps folder and I copied them from there to put into the Mods folders. So yeah, the above is done but still the same outcome.

Try and join another server, try out CJ #1.

You're probally missing some files that you haven't downloaded manually. Try to join the server and when the download gets stuck again open console and type /reconnect.

And yeah try it at CJ #1.

I cant join CJ #1 because it's a UK server and I'm in Aus. "Server is for low ping players only"
I will try the /reconnected idea though and get back to you

i read somewhere that thers no servers located in australia and ppl are cry. There will be Servers in Black Ops and MoH located there. Patience ;( in fact u can rent a server @ both locations

ok /reconnect on the download freezing seems to help. It's downloading a map right now but only at 12kbps.
I'm using the Mac version of COD4 so it may be the problem, I'm not sure.

Is there no single download pack from the site?

Depending on whether or not the server has a redirect, 12 kbps may be the best you can do without manually downloading the file/s from elsewhere.

Occasionally, if it has a redirect, it starts downloading from the server instead of the redirect, so you have to do /reconnect a few times to get it to work.

Is there no single download pack from the site?

Nope. #1 has a redirect running at reasonable speeds, so it might be worth joining that with downloads on and get most of the files that way.
