Do you like melodic death metal itself or what's your favourite genre ?
Also, I don't like Dead by April but Dark Tranquility is awesome.
I've got a lot of bands, I'll post some more if you don't know some of these:
Anterior probably released the best metal album in the world the year they released it (2007 iirc). Lots of people are waiting for their second album which is finally hopefully in 2010.
If you like Insomnium, you'll love Be'lakor. Without a doubt the most melodic band (After Eternal Tears of Sorrow) I know. Their songs are almost all 6+ mins and they don't bore you in the slightest since pretty much no part is the same. Masterpieces, every songs. Insane piano/keyboard works, everything is great.

The piano sets a doom kind of atmosphere, best song from their album Check out the lead guitarists solos. I've posted them on the forums a while ago and he's so incredibly talented it's insane. The solo from this song is the best, and one of the best solos in any song I've heared while he's only 22 or so. Just look at the video suggestions
