CoD Multiplayer 1.5 error?

Post by Sno0p » August 1st, 2005, 6:29 pm

If I try to watch a demo or start a own server in CoD Multiplayer 1.5, the game displays this error:
unknown effect type 'bullets_pistol_normal' in first column of file 'fx/mc_uo_impacts.csv'
Wo knows how to fix this one?

OK man i am almost positive that you have a mod in your main folder.. this is an extremeley common problem and has probably been posted aobut 300 times in this forums.. So just look for the mod and either delete them or move them.. if this doesnt work than talk to me on xfire murphy001...

Good Luck

Sorry that I post this problem again, but i didn't find anything on Google
I will take a look in my Main folder and delete some files. Thanks!

I think I'm going to delete all Mods and unnecessary files accept my custom maps and AWE Mod.

Which files in the Cod Main folder are standard and shoudn't be removed? And in de UO folder?

Do not just go around deleting random mods.. thats a bad idea and you might end up having to reinstall if you do it.. i would just look in the folder for those mods that were stated in the error.. dont do unnessicary deleting!! again good luck and im glad i could help

You should also delete the AWE mod m8 (or move it) cause that can cause a problem too. I don't know exactly which files are default in those folders but other forum members do know and will give you a list probably :)

no need if you do what i said above that ^^ the awemod doesnt nessicarily need to be removed... do this part at a time so you can get by without deleting as much.. only delete what you need to delete to get this to work..
good luck

These are the stock CoD files (CoD/Main)
localized_english_pak0.pk3
localized_english_pak1.pk3
localized_english_pak2.pk3
localized_english_pak3.pk3
localized_english_pak5.pk3
pak0.pk3
pak1.pk3
pak2.pk3
pak3.pk3
pak4.pk3
pak5.pk3
pak6.pk3
pak8.pk3
pak9.pk3
paka.pk3
pakb.pk3

These are the stock UO files (CoD/UO)
localized_english_pakuo00.pk3
localized_english_pakuo01.pk3
localized_english_pakuo02.pk3
pakuo00.pk3
pakuo01.pk3
pakuo02.pk3
pakuo03.pk3
pakuo04.pk3
pakuo05.pk3
pakuo06.pk3
pakuo07.pk3
uomappack00.pk3 (Only if you have installed the UO Map Pack)

BTW, Custom maps can sometimes come with mods installed inside the pk3.
Also, AWE and other similar mods should be installed to their own mod folder (the correct way of installing mods)
For example...
C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\awe_cod
C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\gfm
C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\omg

I had only just removed all my mods, so quick and easy "copy and paste" work :P
