Alien Swarm

Valve hired a bunch of people from the mod community and they made Alien Swarm, which was released free a few days ago. It's a top down co-op shooter that feels quite a bit like Left 4 Dead. I'd say the game is probably worth about $20, so free = awesome. It's got a great leveling system, unlockables, and some of the best stat tracking I've seen. The online play is surprisingly smooth and well designed for a game that just came out as well.

Basically: free game with Valve's standards for development = win

It's ok. Gets boring extremely quickly.

Same thing as Left 4 Dead. Play it on hardest with friends that have mics and it becomes amazing.

I had a ton of fun playing this, it gets really intense if you play on harder modes
