PC getting too hot

Post by [SoE]_Zaitsev » July 11th, 2010, 3:40 pm

I was wondering if it's possible to remove one side from my PC and have a fan blow inside my PC to cool it down a bit. Does it work ?

Lately when I'm playing a game my PC starts freezing mid-game. It's simply getting too hot (Really hot when I place my hand on the case). Have to shut down after ~30 minutes since I don't want my graphics card or motherboard to burn out.

It's 30+ degrees nowadays.

Just because of this hot weather my PC gets extremely hot. My fans are working, but it's simply not enough. And I cba buying another fan for a couple of weeks of increased heat. Normally it's fine.

Also @ Radox, there's plenty of holes etc in my case. So if I blow cold air into my case, it simply won't be stuck in there. So would it work ?

A normal fan produces cold air, that's why they invented it :D

I think you misunderstood my situation. I want a fan OUTSIDE the computer, not inside.

Thanks for the info KS. I already had a feeling a fan would work, but I wasn't really sure if it would be very effective.

That or it simply rotates the airs in the room creating a air currents of hot air goes up and back, cold air moves down and forward (hence why a fan eventually just blows hot air, unless you have a source of cooling... :P)

But yes, using a larger fan will move the hot air from the case quickly...

KillerSam wrote:lol my Power Supply blew up today really dramatically...huge puff of smoke, flash + bang. Turns out that fan I was speaking about (on the PSU) had totally filled it with dust....not cool.
Just had to install a new 650watt PSU (that I had spare).

Moral of the story....keep your PC clean inside and don't let your PSU fill with dust.
lol, thats what happened to me a while back. I was literally 30cm from the bang + flash, nearly shit myself :P
