Money isn't the ONLY reason people pirate games.. people do it because it's easy, with just a few clicks and some waiting, you can play the game. Also, you have people who just want to play it once, and then they're done with it. One other reason, in the case of Modern Warfare 2, is that people downloaded it as sort of a rebellion against Infinity Ward for screwing everyone over.Drofder2004 wrote:You cheap pirates now have no reason not to own all the games.
Also, I know people don't think so, and it might sound weird, but uploaders of cracked games or software DO encourage people to buy it. In fact, in a lot of warez sites, I see something along the lines of "Support the developers. If you like the game, BUY IT!"
Some people think that the developers are losing money from people 'stealing' their games. If you compare the amount of downloaded games to the amount of paid games, it's actually really insignificant.

Re: CoD Series CHEAP!
A ferrari, which can cost $200,000+ and a video game, which is <£20 in your OP, is not exaclty a fair comparison. So stealing a £20 game is NOT a big deal. Btw, you can't physically steal a ferrari, but if people had the option to magically download one and use it for a week, and it was cheap with millions of copies to be sold, I bet it wouldn't be such a big deal... and the developers wouldn't stop making them.KillerSam wrote: That's not a reason to pirate the game. You can't steal a ferrari, use it for a week and that's perfectly ok then....
Yes, of course it costs developers money, but not nearly as much as the media exaggerates it to be.KillerSam wrote: I would say it's pretty damn obvious it is costing developers money. How many people pirate a game and they go on to buy it? the number would (at a guess) around 5%.
That's my point... it's easier to download it, and all pirates aren't cheap.KillerSam wrote: How many people would have purchased the game if they couldn't get it illegally.....50%? 60%? probably.
Re: CoD Series CHEAP!
$30 for all those games?!?! best deal ever D: Too bad I already have them all except UO and CoD1

Re: CoD Series CHEAP!
I pirate SP games sometimes. But usually I buy all my games. Everybody downloads illegal stuff. But I just can't stand people downloading games and use cracks to play on the internet.

I don't think that I have ever downloaded a single game illegally I find it so much simpler to just go and buy it. I have downloaded lots of films though

Re: CoD Series CHEAP!
I only download games that don't require a key, most of them are single player. If it does require a key (like the CoD series), I just go out and buy them.
But damn! What an offer! Although I already have CoD1/UO/2 it still is a pretty amazing offer. My current system( build in 2003...) can't run MW/WaW but I'm going to buy a new system soon. (Will be making a topic about it to ask some questions.) But £22 for MW and WaW is cheap as well.
When does the special offer end?
