sv_maxClients issue

I need to add 2 bots to a listen server to test a script, but I can't increase the max client limit past 2...

... does anyone know why? (Using a different/new profile doesn't fix the problem.)

No idea, try latching it using a shortcut?

Otherwise check for interfering files.

UI = User Interface. It is cosmetic only, server settings sre set using sv_.

Other advice would be to use "Windows Grep" and search every file within your installation for the max clients dvar.

Thanks Drofder, Windows Grep showed me all the .cfg files, which I set sv_maxClients to "32" in, and now the game is letting me have 32 players max.. apparently there were other config files being exec'd before my profile config.

No, but still pretty fast, unless you want to search thousands of files

I have mine set up to search the raw and mods directory of my CoD4 folder, searching for ".gsc, .menu, .inc, .h" which is about 800 files.
