I honestly have no care or respect for people who commit suicide, especially over something like that.

Obviously your own choice and opinion, but I wouldn't make an RIP topic about someone I never even knew. Someone dies every few seconds in the world... and most of them not by their own choice.

I personally don't know him, neither does anyone on these forums so in all honesty I couldn't care less.

What's your problem seriously. I know people die every second and no, you can't feel bad for all of them. But does that mean you should stop caring the minute you don't know him?

It doesn't hurt you to stop all the negativity at some moment and just care a little bit about others, even if they are complete strangers.

I don't get it that it doesn't even touch you guys a little bit. He was so far down that he didn't saw another way to deal with it and suicided. His gamer mates decided to make a video for him to be sure he'll be remembered and show their respect.

A lot of people see gamer mates as friends that aren't real friends. Story's like this prove it wrong. I think it's great that even tough you only talk each other over the PC you can still have a good relation with those people.

I love people like that and they make you think about life. Huge respect for people like that. But then their always people that say they don't give a shit and the right respond to that would be, go fuck yourself.

Obviously, if it was someone I knew, or was a member of this community, then I would care and give my condolences.

Considering that none of us knew this guy, including you, I don't see the point in this topic. Gamers die reasonably often and their specific communities give their respects, but I find this topic itself somewhat out of place here.

It's not that I have something against people making videos and saying RIP on forums, I just don't think it makes sense to do it when it's somebody who has no links to this community and nobody in this community has links to him.

This post reminded me of when Micheal Jackson died. Before his death, a shit load of people put him down and labeled him a pedophile and other expletives, yet after his death he just became a legend and all of that went away... fucking hypocritical faggots. Personally, I try to treat people with the same respect that I would as if they were dead. Anyways, I just felt like saying that out in public, even though it has very little to do with Hoogie's post.

EDIT: This is a bit more on-topic. People die every day, whether they are strangers to you, or relatives. If you cared about every single person who died, you would probably, and ironically, commit suicide out of grief. Show respect for the dead, but caring is a another story.

Seeing as there has been an epidemic of teen suicides in the two high schools in my area, I find myself sympathizing with this guy alot more than I would have expected. It's so easy to say that suicide isn't the answer, and that he's an idiot for choosing that path, but when kids you thought you knew well are all running off to the train tracks, it makes you think theres more to it than that.

It's the oppressive nature of society that leads to so many suicides and it is unfortunate. However, in our present existence it is unavoidable. On the subject of this guy, I bet at least 50 people died in this day alone with more tragic and heart rending deaths than this guy did. It's terrible that things like this happen, but they do happen. It's not callous to not pay attention to these things or to knock them aside with a joke, it's a valid form of self-preservation. The vast majority of people can hardly live their lives without hearing about the latest genocide in Africa, a rape victim oppressed by the Vatican, a recent racist lynching, or yet another suicide for some powerful reason.

I'm not hesitant to admit that I'm one of these people. I deal with depression to such an extent that I've stopped doing things that I love out of simple apathy. It's about treating everyone equally. Why should I care about this guy more than an innocent man sentenced to death for a crime he didn't commit? By specifying my grief I'm simply negating that of others, so rather I hold a low level of perpetual grief for humanity as a whole and what we must experience as a species. Anyone who has made jokes in this topic or thrown it off nonchalantly cares, however they care on a different level than you do. That doesn't make them a better or worse person, simply different in their perception of the world around them.

To make it clear. I would show symphaty if it was a friend of someone on these forums. But since this is someone I don't even know, I feel absolutely nothing. Even though it's sad, I won't lose a nights sleep.

It's a loss for his friends/relatives. But you can't expect people on these forums to care. I could just pick up some RIP videos from youtube and post them here. Should we grief at every video? I think not.

I can understand the video got you thinking about certain things and got you in a certain mood. Probably, because of that, you started caring about the video and the responses to it, because the video created some feelings inside of you. Therefore you started caring, is what I think. But others are not experiencing the same feelings or aren't getting in the same mood you get, when you watch it. It's also your job to respect that and do not demand the same feelings about this case from others. If that is realised, we let you free to feel/experience whatever want, and will also respect that.
