Is anyone attending this years Penny Arcade Expo? It's on the east coast (of the US) for the first time, so I'm actually going this year! If anyones going, let me know and we could meet up. It would be awesome to meet some of the codjumper forum members IRL, and events like this are the perfect for this. Any other form of meeting IRL would be just plain sketchy/creepy

Lulz, not good? It's only sold out an entire month before the actual event. And attendance numbers for the past several year at the west coast event were also ridiculous. Its okay KS, you just don't really know whats it's all about.

nVIDIA is releasing new hardware! there having D+D on a microsoft surface! there are tons of nerdcore concerts lined up! plus there are tournaments throughout the day. As well as BYOC, which is a giant room full of people LANing it up with whatever game they want.

How does that not sound like fun? I haven't even began to describe all thats going on.

BTW this isn't an event for creeps (like comic-con), this is attended by (mostly) normal people.

new nVIDIA release = awesome to see in person because you get to hear them talk about it and you can ask questions yourself

D+D on a MS surface = i guess it's just personal preference, but what other chance would you have to do something like that!

nerdcore concerts = i really don't have to travel to see them, just a couple hours away by car. (i don't mean that this would be something that YOU would travel to see)

tournaments = there quite exciting actually, especially if you're in them, which you can be

BYOC = it IS a lan center, and considering the fact that i've never even seen a lan center, this is quite exciting.

Plus, I haven't even started on all the presentations and keynote speakers that are speaking. There are TONS of different topics that are being discussed, developers attending, and you can ask questions at all of these events.

I guess this better describes the event, because you just must not understand the entirety of the event:

PAX East is a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers. We call it a festival because in addition to dedicated tournaments and freeplay areas we've got nerdcore concerts, panel discussions, and an exhibitor hall filled with booths displaying the latest from top game publishers and developers. Even with all this amazing content the best part of PAX East is hanging out with other people who know their shit when it comes to games.

AND, all of this costs only $55 USD for a 3-Day pass. How could you NOT attend?

Very broad assumption, that someone who sees the event contents as shit could be seen as "unsocial". In my opinion, most of the event content is pretty boring beyond belief...
