ok m8.. ad me im murphy001.... ill be glad to help you sometime.. as for the demos.. They are .dm_2 files which are opened in your Call Of DUty game.. You save them to the Main file... then extract them there... Then you open up cod and type into your console /demo <demoname> to play it... So if u downloaded the harbor35 you type.. /demo harbor35.dm_2... Good luck with it m8..

Ok, first of all dm_2 and dm_3 files are not viewable in a video player, only with the game itself.
.dm_2 is regular Call of Duty, .dm_3 is for Call of Duty:UO
Example you download a file name carentan18.dm_2. What you need to do is save it to:
C:/Program Files/Call of Duty/Main/demos
If it's a .dm_3 file, save it to:
C:/Program Files/Call of Duty/uo/demos
To view these, you then open up the game depending on the extension. In your case it seems, regular Call of Duty.
Now when you get to the login screen hit the key ~ which is left of the number one. Type in the following:
/demo filename.dm_2
For this example:
/demo carentan18.dm_2
You then will view the demo of a person doing what they recorded.
To record your own demo, you:
/record filename
and then
/stoprecord
Depending on what game you recorded from you go to that demo folder for that game.
Also for XFires, mine is A1tjm. You can get the full list of other peoples here:

(Sorry Murphy, no one was online so decided to have a longer post and seems like you posted a brief version real quick)
