Don't assume that everybody has the same level of understanding as yourself, and accept (as stated in my previous post) that he didn't realise. You obviously knew (juding by your "what the hell?" post) that he didn't understand so why the need to be so confrontational?

It doesn't take a level of understanding, it just takes the bother to read the post or google something, it doesnt take a genius to understand that.

Reaper when you buy a server and set it up, by default it downloads the server files(mods/maps/etc) from the server itself, which has always limited download speed to 3kb/s or something like that. To have a fast download speed, you need another ftp, people in cod call it, redirect-ftp.

Just by that anyone could figure out that the default thing where you download the server files is the 'default ftp' if you had no idea what ftp is, seeing this guy has a server he does have some knowledge, he just doesnt bother to read. Even tho I explained everything to him, why would he want 'his own ftp back' if he knows that the download speed would be 3kb/s again, ok maybe he has his reasons, but still, that disagrees with the name of this topic...

You miss my point entirely. I can understand you getting annoyed about something that directly affects you, but the fact that somebody doesn't understand FTP isn't a reason to have a go at them.

I own a community of 27168 people and I can assure you that being polite is not the way and it won't teach them anything, people need discipline, if they can't bother to read or google I won't go on being polite, I was polite with the first post where I explained to him to what to do, seeing the answer he gave me, I stopped. Unlike most people I speak my mind that's why I always get into this arguments but I couldn't care less.

I own a community of 27168 people and I can assure you that being polite is not the way and it won't teach them anything, people need discipline, if they can't bother to read or google I won't go on being polite, I was polite with the first post where I explained to him to what to do, seeing the answer he gave me, I stopped. Unlike most people I speak my mind that's why I always get into this arguments but I couldn't care less.

And jesus christ just read slowly Peds KS and everyone elses posts towards you on this tpoic, and PLEASE understand what they are telling you, its frustrating me that your so ignorant.

Also, you cannot justify going "Omg what the hell? Do you even know what FTP is? Jesus..." just because he doesn't understand FTP servers, I know what one is roughly, but i have NO CLUE how they work or what they exactly are, and I have spent over 20 hours researching them and trying to set one up on my home IP address, does this mean I should be confronted like you did to Reaper? I don't think so tbh.

Technically his forums do have 27169 members, however, there's only 37655 Posts in 3121 Topics, compared to CJ which has 112147 posts in 9309 topics (and only 3803 members!).

On a side note, I do think what was said to Reaper was harsh. He's being kind enough to donate his server in the first place, and things that may seem simple to you may not seem simple to others... that's where teaching comes in.

Codjumper forum has lived way longer than my forum, codjumepr exists from 2004? PES6J started in 2009, so, there's no compering, in 5 years you know that it probably have 100times as many posts are here... You yourself got 10k posts, some other people do is well, I myself got only about 200 on my website. Besides, having access to the server is not all, there is a high discipline on the server, it's not easy to control all these people from all over the world, not only on the forum but on the server as well, if I was polite all these 30k people that play would just go crazy with cheating and everything. Let's not compare the popularity and usage of those 2 websites btw.

Yeah but on average your users only post 1.6 posts or something each. Compared to codjuymper where I account for 1000 people on your forum - because this forum has dedicated users.

Forgot to answer that, you know why he donated? Because I donated, I opened a codjumping clan which is has really skilled jumpers , (from those popular one I guess its just dantheman that you would know). This guy reaper, he tried to copy lots of things, I donated because I wanted the server to have some players, he did that too, I opened a forum, (insaneglitchers.tk), he opened one as well. Just copying. Before, there was a topic on my forum explaining the requirements of joining, he simply copied it to his forum and edited a bit. Some of their admins, admins of clan where reaper is might be pissed off at me because they wanted to join my clan but they turned out not to be good enough, all those 'Americans' that ask u the same question over and over again how to have fast download etc, just coping stuff.

It wasn't an attack, I was only doing it as a general comment regarding to you 'owning' a community of 27,000 people. Sure, you get a lot of people on your website, although most of them don't contribute to the website itself and use it as more of a portal to other opportunities. You can't really compare most websites logically anyway, for example your website is likely to be larger than this one anyway, as the amount of people looking for a server on PES6 is likely to be significantly greater than those who are interested in jumping on Call of Duty games.

Forgot to answer that, you know why he donated? That's what most of our donators have done (although not all). Quite a few have been jumping communities who want to publicise themselves a bit more through our website, which is fair enough. Everybody wins, they get advertisement and we get more jump servers to spend time on. I'm not bothered if he did just copy you, because at the end of the day that's his decision and doesn't have much to do with me - I'm simply here trying to help him out.
