using timescale with cod2 demos

Whenever i try to use timescale with cod2 demos, I can't get it to work. I know the command is cheat protected, so hear is what i do, in order.

/devmap mp_toujane
/disconnect
/demo (name)
/timescale (#)

any ideas why this doesnt work?

some commands need developer to be enabled, try /developer 1 before timescale.

Perhaps make sure you load it in the correct gametype before you load the demo.
