True. If you can up the price to $450-500 you could get a PC that will 'just' run it smooth enough for play. Anything under that will run it but probably not well enough to play.

EDIT: whats your current system? Every thought about upgrading (if your current system is good enough that is)

If you only have $300, put it in a bank and earn some more.

KillerSam wrote:$300 will just about cover a graphics card to be honest. If you are on a budget like that I would suggest buying something like an xbox (seriously) as it is the most cost effective way to play games.
True, unless you upgrade your current machine, beggars can't be choosers, I had an old HP machine, 2gb ram, 3.2ghz P4, stock it couldn't run cod2, then I bought an 8400gs for $50, played CoD4 not too bad, even plays MW2.

I baught a dell demension E520 4 years ago and threw a ATI Radeon 1650x pro 512 mb and i run cod4 pretty damn good. my spes while playing cod4 arent top notch, i dont need it but i do have them all up past midway.

idk how much these 2 things are now, but my gfx card back then was 125$ and the pc i cant even remember.

you dont need new top notch material to play, but i think no matter what you'll need a bit more money, save up and get something simple yet efficiant. my shits 4 years old and i can run left 4 dead CoD4 and WaW. maybe not top notch fps and everything else. but oh well.

I replaced that pc a while back but still use it.

Dell is incredibly overpriced, their technology is crap unless you get incredibly expensive stuff, I've seen countless Dell products slow down and work worse much faster than other better brands (Asus and Acer for example), Dell often has overheating problems. I could go on.

Dell desktops are fine for most day to day activities, but no strain...
Dell gaming rigs are a joke of a price.
Dell laptops hold their own, good quality imo.

ehh, i do agree. dell isnt that great.mine over heats quite often. but its on 24 hours a day practically so yea its going to.but for 450 and to play video games its good enough for me. besides, you can get a gaming pc for 500$. may not run top notch but again, why does that even matter?

Dont be fooled into thinking you have to spend an arm and a leg to play pc. you can if you wish, or you can get slightly older or less quality peices. why spend over 1g when you can spend 500$?

when i play cod4 the carachters may not be charp and sound may not be cunning. but idc, i get to play so im happy. i guess it may be because im not that big into pc and my specs are pathetic but oh well.

I had uploaded my "gaming rig"

Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 510MB RAM
Hard Drive: 74 GB
Video Card: Radeon X1650 Series

Sound Card: SigmaTel Audio
Speakers/Headphones:

Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300)
Motherboard:
Computer Case:

its all so pathetic but i can still play. its all been upgraded now but this was it back then.
