Redirect download setting help?

Post by F |Madness| U » December 7th, 2009, 6:02 pm

Basically I've read guides on how to do it but I don't really understand it. For example here is the steps I am stuck on:

1. Your public HTML directory will normally be visible as soon as you login to FTP as wwwroot, public_html, www, or something similar. Check with your web site's technical support if you are not sure. Create a folder in your web site's public HTML folder named “cod4” (or whatever else you prefer to call it) that you will use to store all of your custom game files. If you have a website with us then you would be creating the folder like so: /wwwroot/cod4

2. Once you have your base redirect folder setup you will not want to copy the .ff and .iwd of your server's Mods and usermaps folders into it with the same directory structure. For isntance, if you have a file called mp_subway.iwd in the /usermaps/mp_subway folder on your game server then you will want to upload it to the /wwwroot/cod4/usermaps/mp_subway folder on your redirect server.

I've uploaded files onto a public download website sort of thing, and in step 2 where it says "you will want to upload it to the /wwwroot/cod4/usermaps/mp_subway folder on your redirect server." I can't work out how to make another folder inside one folder already on the website I'm using, am I using the wrong sort of website?

For anyone interested in helping the website I'm using is http://www.esnips.com/web/jamiescod4

I think I'm using the wrong sort of website but I don't know..thanks in advance to anyone that can help :)

You cannot use a web based download as a folder.

The above link must be DIRECT download.

You need file hosting.
google it.

Or web hosting is basically the same thing.

Too my knowledge you will not meet your needs for "free" unless you become your own file host which will be fine as long as you only host small files and have few people downloading from you...
