I would agree that they've been getting progressively worse, however, CoD2 and CoD4 are not 'bad' games in their own right and especially compared to other games outside of the Call of Duty series.

I would say theyre not worse, different would be a good word imo.

Cod 2 and cod 1 are completely different but its not like it was a step down.

Also, I believe the series starting going down after perks and classes were introduced. Simplistic 'pick your team' and 'pick your gun' is much better.

I still play cod2 and still love it :)

also I think the real bane to the game was having it so that both teams could have all weapons. I think team specific weapons with 6 or at most 8 weapons a side was what made cod1 and cod2 great

yeah they counterbalanced each other in different ways

PPSH could just spray at an entrance and hope and the mp44 could pick it offin a couple of seconds etc

Cod2 was too slow for me.. Combined with very accurate and easy to aim with guns, made it not mobile enough for me. Its a very good game, no doubt, but I prefer the speed of CoDUO.

nicely put peds.

I do firmly agree.

Compared to any other game in there class.... Well simply put the Call of Duty series is at the top of its class and keeping this up they will have no problem keeping it that way.

(Just not the pc gaming world due to its new "improved" online style.)
(okay well all the ones who dont care will still buy it and play it)

Yeh it's not always 'more is better'. I'm pretty sure Vista comes to mind

MW2 brought even more. Quickly looked on my fathers account and I think the latest 2 Death Streaks you can unlock are Martyrdom and Last Stand (That's what I thought while looking at the pictures atleast). That's a dumb thing to do because in the end everybody will have either of those 2 Death Streaks. And I dunno about you but those are the worst 2 perks you could possibly take. I hate Martyrdom.

Still, CoD4 was great, without a doubt for us the best game to jump on. Had fantastic maps, not too big, not too small but the overdosis on perks... I wouldn't mind if they left those out. Choppers etc are a good idea. But kills made by the chopper and other killstreak rewards shouldn't count on top of your killstreak count.

Ah well.

Mh I have played cod4 only a few times via hamachi and for maybe 2 times on internet. There was no map like some of the cod or cod2 ones. And the carentan (Chinatown) sucks tbh in cod4 too much useless details.

I've got always problems when I play cod4/waw/mw2 and return to cod2 that it seems like slow motion. Those games are too fast for me. cod is in some situations even slower for me, cause you don't have health regeneration and you time your break out in difficult situations different to cod2

I mean you are saying it as if CoD4 is no longer good and no longer has fantastic maps.

"WAS great" and "HAD fantastic" suggest that it is no longer true.
Ah. Naah that's probably because I am no longer playing it. Been a few months since the last time I went on a normal server to do some shooting.

After playing CoD1 for 4 or 5 years, running clans, playing in public servers and doing scrims.... i couldnt find that same kick ass feeling in any other game. mostly because i played bolt action rifles only no nades and no pistols.

Hate spray and pray so when CoD WW came out i prayed to god it would at the least just as good as CoD 1..... CoD WW turns out to be an epic fail.

Terible except for zombie mode...

Ive givin up hope unless the next CoD after MW2 will make me happy by busting out rifles only and some one creating a rifles only mod.

It won't happen. The last thing people on consoles will want is bolt action rifles as their pathetic little gamepads couldn't aim them well at all. If anything it will become less balanced, less coordinated, and more clunky.

Yes and then people will think there expert at a game that even a semi retarded and drunk dog can be good at.

Times like this make me bust out the old atari and NES...
