Do you think by BUYING it or NOT BUYING IT the future of PC gaming is going to change? JDogg said it all; If people buy it or dont buy it it doesnt matter. Maybe they like the game, ever thought of that?Just because a person is part of a comminuty online is does not mean THEY CANNOT buy a game. Its different to other shit - On a diet you cant do good then shove your face with junkfood, opposite here, we didnt make a pledge not to buy the game. Sure, we signed a petition but Im sure if I signed the petition (which I did) and my pc was half good enough to run it I would sure enough in the end get it despite its downfalls.
Jdogg also mentioned the SP being awesome, whats wrong in buying it just for the SP? It isnt a low 'standard' - its very high if you actually took the time to look behind the facts and at the actual product.
noone would play the game on xbox 360 or ps3 if it was that bad, jesus christ, your acting like its a fucken virus.
EDIT; just as a aside note I think we all know codjuumper was going down from cod 4 onwards. (after cod 4, not including although I dont see it as being a particularly 'up' moment for codjumper.) I think it doesnt matter even if cod 6 was all we hoped it would be, this site was still going to go down in the end. I t isnt even used primarily for jumps these days, just as a place to chat - not even aboutcodjumping tbh!
Do you not understand anything about capitalism? Supply and demand. If a company supplies a product and people demand (aka buy) it, then the company will continue to supply it. So, if a company supplies a lower level product and people continue to buy it, they have achieved more profit for less effort. Since greed is a fundamental part of capitalism, corporations will always be looking for the maximum profit with the least amount of effort. Companies also work off statistics. If one company lowers its quality and generates the same revenue, another company will know they can do the same and will follow suit so as to not fall behind.
Another aspect of capitalism is the idea of "follow the leader". There will always be a leading company in whatever area they work, for instance, nVidia leads in the gaming hardware field, Intel leads in general hardware, Sony leads in home entertainment, Walmart leads in retail stores, McDonalds leads in fast food. The list goes on and on. At this point it is essentially indisputable that MW2 (and it's creator IW) lead gaming. Stats like 4.7mil sold in 24 hours and most pre-ordered game in history back that up.
It's simple psychology and economics. It's definitely not insanity, if anything it is common sense. IW just lowered the standard of PC games, either you can indulge them and show other companies it is okay, or provide your opinion regarding the game. Even the people saying the game is okay have their issues with multiplayer. They may not consider it game breaking but they definitely consider it a step backward. Couple that with it being more expensive, and even people who enjoy the game will admit it has taken a few wrong turns. Therefore, in paying for this game you are professing support towards the direction it is heading and the countless companies that will follow suit.
These ideas I've brought up aren't my personal philosophies, they are factual statements regarding capitalism that have been proven time and time again. KS, a few others, and I aren't arguing simple philosophy or that you should stick to your principles, we're arguing the well known facts that tell us what is going to happen because of these PC sales. Patterns repeat themselves, it is their nature. We've just put ourselves into the downward spiral that so many other areas of capitalism have fallen victim to. People become addicted and engrossed, companies lower quality, people can't live without and continue to buy. It is a vicious cycle that will cause complete regression in PC gaming until it finally gets so far that we'll stand up for it.
We just failed to stand up for it at MW2, so it looks like we'll have to wait until MW3 to try and make a stand again. Maybe by that time you'll have learned. In the future, if you're going to debate a point, use rationality not your undying love for a series, it's not only ignorant and annoying, but outright stupid. In conclusion, what the fuck is wrong with you
