Just use a night time skybox.

You don't need a custom sun file, but when you set your worldspawn settings, just make sure you use the right ones for your skybox. If there isn't any available info for that skybox's settings either choose another skybox or use another nighttime map's worldspawn settings (like Bog).

I'd search modsonline.com for a tutorial. Either that or go into the iwd's, find the file settings for the ambient music, put the same settings (bitrate, filetype, etc) on the file you want, then go into your .gsc and change the link to the ambient music to your custom file (which of course you will be accessing through the file structure you created for your file within your main folder).
