but i don't know how to execute the .dm files. Put them in the Main/demo folder, but then what? I can't veiw the tutorials or various movies without this knowledge, thanks

go in your Multiplayer..... open the console with ^ and type > /demo NAME

ok, now I'm getting a "hunk_allocatetempmemory: failed on 42....w/e, needs 217....w/e" error. ran into this on various servers too. anyone have ideas? preventing all dm_2 files from opening

Delete all the mods in your main folder, and if you use UO, delete all the mods in the UO folder too.

solved it. got rid of everything but the essentials (and a few jump maps). got it working, thanks all.

now i'm getting a:

Game code(ui_mp_x86.dll) failed Pure Server check

error on certain servers. tried to move it, but won't allow me to run CoD without it. even though I have a maps_mp_x86 and another .dll in my main. sorry for being newbish. I just hate this stuff and tend to make it worse if i fiddle with it myself

cgame_mp_x86.dll
game_mp_x86.dll
ui_mp_x86.dll

They are the only dll's you should have in your main folder. If any others, consider why they are there and move them. If you only have them 3. Reinstall, your files are most likely corrupt.

well, i have a bootlegged copy so reinstall would be impossible. guess I'll have to suck it up and wait until CoD2 comes out. thanks anyways

iv had that problem alot.. i just put all my maps in a folder and put that on my desktop and then put all my demo's etc in a diff folder on my desktop and then reinstall..

always works for me.. in the past 2 weeks i reinstalled CoD 7 times.. lol.

well, because of the bootlegged copy, I'm stuck in non-PB games with all those hackers. only decent server i found was a CoD Jumping server se up by [-ERS-] Dwarf, so yea, MP has been cruel to me. hopefully CoD2 still runs on the quake engine (haven't checked much into the new games yet).
I would reinstall, i have all the disks on clonedrive, but i forgot the MP cdkey

CoD2 won't use the QuakeIII engine m8. Look at these screens and you will understand why

so no more jumping then huh. darn. well, seeing as my files are corrupt and i'm still getting compile errors on some maps, I legitly bought the game online so no more problems hopefully. thanks to you all
