I dont know much about Servers and Stuff but if i can host locally a private Match in MW2, shouldnt it be possible to host a dedicated Server in Theory?

For me it looks similar to Wormsnet what be used for Worms Armageddon. I create a match as local Host and somebody join a Lobby and i Start the game. Well its nearly the same to host a LAN Game(or espescially for MW2 Hamachi), the only difference its linked with IWNet/Steam. I have no idea how but i think its not the Problem to bypass IWNet and/or Steam

yes, but the host will be just that, the host. They will have around 0 ms and be lag free, whereas others will have a lot of lag and get owned constantly. Reminds me of Gears of war. My friend used to play that and people who would own would be called a "hoster" because they normally hosted the game and had 0 ms xD.

Personally, this is a great plan, but taking out dedi server support is where this plan goes wrong. Without dedi server support, there is no way in hell that I will buy this game.

i mean if u run Hamachi from a 24/7 dedicated Server u rent somewhere then u have a normal dedicated Server. Well Hamachi wouldnt work bec MW2 has no Lan support. U need a special Client for MW2.

If u Host a Private Match the way should be like:

Your PC- IWnet/Steam - YourFriend

i think its poss to find out how MW2.exe do that and bypass the crap...hope u understand^^
