Major pc problem!

Post by matt101harris » October 18th, 2009, 6:17 pm

Ok hi guys i got a rather bad problem with my pc. Ok lets start of with how i think it happend.
I was turning off my pc as i wanted to go to bed, i got tired and couldnt be botherd to wait for it to turn of on its own, so i switched it off from the plug. The next day i went to turn it on again and it keeps coming up with this message (before the windows loading bit) "sorry your pc couldnt start succesfully, please try 1 of the options below" so i have tryed each 1 ("start windows normaly, start at the last known place before installed programs, safe mode, safe mode with networking, and safe mode wih command prompt") and none of them seem to work. Is there anything else i can try other than having to reformatting it or something? Of not how would i reformat? My oc details are
Motherboard:
ASUS P5KC
Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory:
2048MB RAM
Hard Drive:
250 GB
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Monitor:
Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card:
Realtek HD Audio output

Btw im on my dads pc now for those people who say "how r u on the internet then" or something like that :D. Anyways i hope you can help,
thanks Matty

Happened to me twice. Reformat is all I could manage but I never really explored the issue, I just went ahead and reformatted.

Similar problem too, I accidentally knocked the plug with my foot under the table and it just fell out a tiny bit while the system must have been writing a crucial file or something.

Not sure if you could format a different drive or partititon part of the drive to save any data you dont want to lose.

This is why Windows 95 had a "It's now safe to turn off your PC" message.

In future:
- Shut Down
- Turn off monitor
- Go to sleep

You do not have to wait, it will shut down (or just fucking wait another 2 minutes)

Change your keyboard settings in control panel to UK English?
