GCSE Music vs PE?

PE = Good for those taking science (especially biology)
Music = Good for those who have no chance to get a decent career and think being in a band for 20 years without getting a contract signed is a worthy option.

Nah, you only need 5 Good GCSE's. Unless you are going to poorly at your A-Levels, then your GCSE's will not be of any real relevance. So would personally, if for enjoyment only, take a subject that keeps you sane.

Doing the mandatory PE, you end up with classes of 30 people. There is no sports our school could play where all 30 people were involved at once...
GCSE - PE, there were about 14 of us. 7-a-side cricket, hockey and football. Not only do you get to enjoy it but you honestly learn some very interesting and useful information about the body.

Also, sports science is a very lucrative industry, how many successful musicians took GCSE music and owe that to their success?

The way I look at it, if you honestly need to make a decision between two completely separate subjects, you probably don't want to be doing either. You should be truly interested in choosing a subject you will either further your career in life or enjoy.

My A Level Physics teacher for example, had a 2:1 in Astrophysics and a 2:1 in music composition. He toured with Black Sabbath, toured with Ozzy, was a member of a popular 80's rock band for a while (UFO) and he teaches physics now to 11 year olds lol.

My brother is majoring in music at his college, and is taking several different music theory classes. My brother is majoring in music at his college, and is taking several different music theory classes. There's also quite a lot of math and science behind music, but I'm not sure if thats something you'd learn about in this class your talking about.

I wish I had the stereotype of a sportsman, I wouldn't be so physically unfit.

Music Theory:
- Melodies, Rhythms, Harmony, Scale and Pitch... and structure.

Sports Theory:
- Muscles, Ligaments, Circulatory & Cardiovascular system and Injuries... and coaching.

Sorry, but I think I know which one is going to benefit me more.

I am surprised that any school would make you pick one of those to be honest as both have pretty limited worth unless you really like them / want to do them.

Hence why I took P.E.

You basically get an extra 1h40m of sports (with 50m of learning about sport).
If you are a lover of sports then its great. Cricket, football and hockey.
