ParseEntity Error

Post by Innkeeper » July 6th, 2009, 12:22 am

whenever i try to load a map in radiant, even one provided by radiant i get this error

ParseEntity: { not found
GetLastError() = 0
An unrecoverable error has occured. Would you like to edit Preferences before exiting Q3Radiant?

I tried fix197a but that didnt work because it didnt seem to be a problem with the maps.

ideas?

It's related to a graphics driver problem IIRC. Try reinstalling the drivers.

mh got that only once and was caused by a missing bracket, but as it is at all maps I would exclude that - did you maybe edit any other files as properties etc. that are loaded by radiant at start up?

This error is commonly caused by trying to use an alternative viewing style (instead of the normal default 4 window view). Uninstall radiant (you may need to use registry cleaners also) then reinstall and do not touch the default settings unless you know what you are doing.

deleted all folders related to mapping and reextracted, to no avail. does deleting the folders actually uninstall radiant, or is there something else i need to do to completely uninstall it?

also, should i re download the tools?

You should be uninstalling properly. not jsut deleting folders. which is why I suggest using a reg cleaner.
