I find it very hard to believe. They can claim that it isn't scripted all they want but I still have to believe that it is to an extent. Otherwise you're talking about actual AI which is, especially at our level of intelligence, impossible.

I'm sure that's something Soviet (if he somehow came across an xbox) would be able to experience first hand
that's a nice pic and all, but out of all the pictures you could have taken why'd you take a picture of a plant? :P
-Soviet
Because plants have some really small details. If a plant comes out nice in a photo, you have yourself a good camera ;)
-Drofder 2004
Yes, but if boobs come out really well in a photo you have a picture of boobs
-Soviet
Discussing Marshall's new camera lol^

The fact that they are making this technology for the xbox is outright embarrassing actually.

If it wasn't scripted at all, and was actual AI, why the fuck are they putting it into an xbox?. I'm skeptical about the whole natal thing tbh.

Saw this a while ago also. I'm also skeptical about the accuracy of it, guess we'll just have to wait and see...

If you read into reviews, gaming sites have had the chance to test the bare basics of the technology, mostly facial and name memorisation and every person has come back amazed.

There is no reason why this isn't possible, this isn't scripted in the usual concept, but everything is scripted as an event. Events are triggered by your actions, your moods, your questions. AI learning to adapt and get smarter is nothing new, it has been in text based programming for many years, this is just a visual representation of it.

I am not astonished by it, not am I excited, it seems like a game that only some lonely weirdo would use.... I have mine preordered.

Haha

Thats true though, despite its revolutionary techonology, only people that would use it either have no friends, or are very bored. Honestly, its just like talking to a friend (only much younger). Unless this adapts into something better (either proper gaming, or anything else useful), then it wouldn't be much point in buying one other than for the initial "wow"
