How can I restrict who connects to my router?

Hi guys, i get fed up with my brother connecting to my router with his laptop and his xbox lol makes me lagg and just bad ping. Is there anyway of like blocking him?

I'm assuming its a wireless router?, if it is then just put a password on it.

yer it is, bu not to the "master pc" which is mine

(i am realy bad atpc's and no nothing!

but there is a cable running to my pc) is there a way of just blockinghim without putting a pw on? beacuse my mum uses a pc to and my step dad and they would get pretty annoyed. :S

go into the router and look for his mac address to his pc and xbox and there should be some options to stop them from connecting to the router.

lol. what is the "mac" thing and also were wqould i find it? I apreachiate the help thanks all <3

His MAC address is his psysical IP address. It is written on his netword card, but since he has a laptop you can't really open it to see, but there are many ways to find it out. Go to his PC, hit Windows+R, type CMD, type ipconfig /all and you'll see his MAC address.

What you could do is to go to your router options through explorer and just block the ports that are used for apps like Xbox.

well normally if he is connected with the router, the router should show up who's connected with which lan ip and his mac
