cant connect to any servers

i just recently got cod4 for the pc and i went into multiplayer after typing in my key code, and no servers showed up.

but i noticed when i typed in the key code, all it says is, "this key code seems valid" then i have to click close to exit it. is that normal? and whats wrong with my game so i cant connect to any servers?

Well, you already put key code when you install game, therefore your story sounds weird but whatever.

Have you changed any filter?
Have you downloaded any patch?
Have you tried to remove your firewall?

Id say try to read manual, they might talk about firewall, and you might have to open some ports. Thats probably the only decent explication I could give you. Gl ( Thats what I had to do to play Splinter Cell Double Agent online, so that might be your case also )

After you press join game from the main menu, press "Refresh List" and servers should come up.

it is on internet, and i did click refresh many times. and does it matter that im running on vista? because that might have some kind of firewall on it

ok i disabled my firewall. and i still dont see any servers. i do have the 1.7 patch...my friend who has 1.5 can still get on. could that be the problem?

Try to do a /connect <IP> to one of our CJ servers ?

now all it says is "waiting for authorization of key code"

Are you blocking anything through your hosts files?
Are you using peer guardian?
Or anything similar?

i honestly dont know what either of those things are...
if that was the problem, how would i troubleshoot that?

maybe try to ping the masterserver!

or your router has problems with the automatica port forwarding -> do it for 28960 UDP in your router, don't ask how depends on your router (use google to find an tutorial)
