I don't think you do. Yeah, a lot of people cause major trouble as a result of it, but the vast majority are sensible with it (or at least if they're not sensible, they don't cause major problems for others). Yes, there will be people who behave badly as a result of it, and at the expense of others, but some of those people are the kind of people who would be likely to find other ways to do so anyway, and the rest don't outnumber the sensible drinking population. If it wasn't for the fact that alcohol is so deep-rooted into our culture, it would most likely be banned as a 'drug'.Drofder2004 wrote:Fair enough, but you have to take a stand point on alcohol

I knew I spelt it wrong (I have to file parking fines to them nearly every week), couldn't be arsed to changing thinking nobody would notice... of course, I forgot about you

Indeed. Beats those fatal fights and drink drivers!KillerSam wrote:Whilst folks drink alcohol, you are always going to get drunken students throwing full traffic cones into the River Thames from bridges, right Peds?

Interestingly, Haringey is the borough and Harringay is a certain area of Haringey, although even the council seem confused at times, there's a small footpath through my 'ladder' of roads and some of the signs say "Haringey passage" and others "Harringay". The latter seems to be being used more often now than in the past.
Anyway, thank god I'm moving out of this shithole for good in 2 weeks time!
