I'm looking for a good fan to support my Core 2 Duo processor so I can do a bit of overclocking (LGA775). Right now I get 50C under load with stock cooling at normal clock and I'd like to be able to up it about 400-600mhz while staying well within proper temperatures. Also, I want my fan to be able to support socket LGA1336 in case I decide to upgrade to a core i7 in the future. Does anyone know of anything good?
I've found this one, but I'm not sure

Re: CPU Cooling
You can get a very good fan for $35 so you shouldn't get one that supports LGA1336 because only that will make the price rise by $20. Get any Thermalright fan with socket 775 and it will keep your CPU cool in all situations. Cooling paste (if that's the english word for it) is even more important than the actual cooler. Make sure to buy good paste and do not put too much on it, then it won't do its job.

Re: CPU Cooling
That's what I use, I installed some green LEDs on them for a cooler effect.

Re: CPU Cooling
alright, but this one appears to be better and supports LGA1336. For roughly $40 more would it be worth getting that in case of an i7 or AMD upgrade?

Re: CPU Cooling
Unfortunately I had to throw away $60 on a new mouse last night (Logitech MX518) because my faithful Logitech MX500 gave out after almost three years. The left mouse button died in action, backstabbing a heavy, so it died happy
RIP Mr. Mouse.
So anyway, will probably have to wait a bit to buy whatever I end up buying.

Hmm, I have a old copperhead with a faulty left click (often double clicking, when clicking once), may have to try a surgery.KillerSam wrote:Did you not attempt to fix it? Generally the switches in mice are all the same and you can wire a new one in place if you have a cheap mouse lying about as a donor.Soviet wrote:Unfortunately I had to throw away $60 on a new mouse last night (Logitech MX518) because my faithful Logitech MX500 gave out after almost three years.
