I agree with that. I don't drink a lot nowadays, only on special occasions, and even then I rarely decide to drink.

What I mean is Drofder, it's his own fault, but he was also close to death. I remember that topic about Jdogg. It's all about ''Do I care ?'' And if it's not about 'me' then who cares.

I've never even had more than 2 beers or a glass of champagne at a time, so I don't know what to say besides, I'm glad your ok. I see your point Drofder, but I don't think he was trying to drink himself to death, just have a good time, which ended up being a bad time.

The only bad part about marijuana is it's illegal to just have it on you. Other than that, I see nothing wrong with it. The only thing that I could think of is that it's not great for your lungs, but it's way better for you than smoking cigarettes because it doesn't have nasty chemicals in it. And you can't overdose on marijuana, so you don't have to worry about that either.

I don't have that much experience with alchohal, but if you aren't retarded, you can drink without getting sick or killed. That may seem hard because you lose all common sense under the influence, but if you limit yourself than you'll be fine.
that's a nice pic and all, but out of all the pictures you could have taken why'd you take a picture of a plant? :P

Because plants have some really small details. If a plant comes out nice in a photo, you have yourself a good camera ;)
-Drofder 2004
Yes, but if boobs come out really well in a photo you have a picture of boobs

I read that smoking marijuana is actually VERY bad for you (in terms of the method of consumption).

Anyway, I don't regret most of what I do when drunk, I find it entertaining and although I did end up not knowing where I was at 6 in the morning, it was an amusing experience when I look back on it. I don't feel I have to drink in order to maintain a 'normal' lifestyle, I drink because I do it and the drinking itself shapes my lifestyle, not the other way round.

At the end of the day, I ended up back home each time safely etc. and so there wasn't really any cost other than the inconvenience which I don't mind now anyway due to the entertaining memory. That's not to say that I want to end up asleep on the street each time I go out, but it's an experience you've got to try at least once

By criticising people who drink without having been drunk yourself, I'd say you're pretty close minded!

aggree with peds,

it was a good bye party for a girl friend, cause she moves away, although it was good to hear that she was almost on same level as I was. I don't drink cause I have problems - you just don't know how like peds already said entertaining it is. Ok I have to admit it was too much, but it was not my intention to get that drunk. Good think was that I didnt have a headache only sickness over the next day. And if people have never been really drunk, you just don't know anything bout it.

I love this argument, it makes me laugh every time.

90% of Marijuana (or similar, skunk/weed) use cigarettes as their source for tobacco. The others use rolling tobacco which, when smoked in a roll up (with a filter), is not as bad as a normal cigarette (due to chemicals) but still very bad.

Very few people simply smoke "weed" on its own (at least in UK), and nobody filters a joint when used with tobacco.

Also, just to be a bit of a picky bastard, they are not "better for you", they are worse, but just not as bad as cigarettes. What is better for you, is not smoking.

As for the use of drugs causing all sorts of problems, the way I look at it, if it does things to your body that doesn't naturally happen with out it, there is a problem. If something makes you dizzy, vomit or 'make you high', it isn't good for you...

To some degree I agree with this statement, but to other degrees I do not. You don't need to try self harm (cutting yourself) to know it is not worthwhile and is for fools.

Self harming is clearly a completely different thing to consuming alcohol - you can't make that comparison. Drinking alcohol to such an extent that you end up in hospital is a foolish thing to do, but enjoying it and only feeling 'bad' the following day isn't, in my opinion.

Using a computer for extended periods of time isn't good for you, but it's still enjoyable so most of us here do it. It's the same for me and drinking alcohol - it makes me dizzy (and in some cases vomit) and makes me feel 'high', and I enjoy the experience, hence I do it knowing the potential risks and downsides. Just because something isn't "good for you" doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

I think self harm to alcohol is an excellent comparison. People who cut themselves tend to be masochists, therefore it feels good to them. The other half of it is that it is obviously not good for you. Anyone with an elementary education (at least in the US) knows that drinking is bad for your health (liver disease), and can lead to deadly choices (drinking and driving, doing other random stupid shit). I don't see where the comparison lacks any validity.

I don't care what people do. Aslong as they don't bring innocent people to their deaths like driving cars while drunk.

Using a computer for a long period of time, is not (directly) going to kill you. Maybe a little eye-strain, carpal tunnel, etc, but its not slowly killing me or doing anything in my head. Don't get me wrong, if you like to drink, then drink. My point was general related, I see absolutely zero reason for drinking. It has no positives, only false positives.

As someone who has grown up (and still growing up) with drink on every side of me, I enjoy the fact that I will never touch the stuff. I can relate to at least 5 drink related deaths, 4 direct from drink itself, 1 suicide due to depression. 4 out of 5 of those were relatives.

I have seen and been in the middle of many drink related fights, from domestic arguments over petty things to full out bar brawls. I have seen family members and friends switch from no problems to being at each others throats. I still have to witness a few people and close relatives/friends, drinking and doing drugs (and am not just referring to 'weed') but luckily I have also been a part of the opposite; witnessing two close people stopping their £300 a week drug habits and cutting down on alcohol usage, you get to see them realise the same thing, of how their life was shit before hand and the amount of good that come from their previous livelihood.

All of the above is true, my views are not based on facts or medical studies, they are based on experience, for every one valid reason for drinking I will give you 5 to counter it.

The worst I've done is have over half a bottle of sambuca, which left me asleep on the streets of London, no idea where I was, returning home at 7:30am the following morning. I've also fallen asleep on night buses on 2 occasions, and ended up about 30 mins bus ride away from my home.
that made me laugh a lot :P
