The problem you run into there is if somebody has a very high avg. That will not change so fast so your stuck with sig that may last on the main page for a long time until some body else's avg rises.

Or possible the most recently added, or random is always a possibility ...

I think a random sig would be the way to go. And it can always be changed depending on how everything with the site plays out once its up.

If its random choices for sigs then its an unfair race. If somebodys sig is chosen to be in the poll and mines not its unfair. Also it would have to be a pole wehre you could see the sig. or its a crapshoot on who wins.

Why not just get a group of like 4 people who are good and active in the graphics area to decide out of a submited group of sigs to be the Featured for the week? That sounds the most reasonable. Have ppl submit them, they are chosen by a group who knows that they are talkin about.

Note that the same header and border will be on each page so that it looks consistent - and that the header has the navigation links in. Also note that when I have simply wrote 'border' that will include the same 'pattern' or edging that divides the content from page background.
