Quick questions regarding jailbroke ipod touch

Hi, Ive just jailbroke my ipod touch 2g, and im wondering what it IS safe and ISNT safe to do with it now.

Mainly:

Can i sync it, if so any special rules to follow?

If I back it up, will it back up the jailbroke files?

How can iI restore it to prejailbreak?

Can I use my itunes account to buy/download things still?

Personally I don't own / like IPods so can't really help you. However, that is certainly something you should have looked at before doing it lol.

How can you not like Ipods, ridiculous price aside it's a great product, and lets face it, most people have Ipods, it's a household name.

Erm, I hate it because the ridiculous price, that you seem happy to put 'aside'.

If I can buy a similar product for half the price, I will, and to be fair, I don't rate the ipod as that good of a product anyway, there are alternatives that are just as good or better.

Whats wrong with posting it on codjumper? I figured the majority of people were teenagers/young adults and thats where I'd expect it to be mostly sold in (the age range of).

I also figured with people who know lots of tech stuff about scripting, coding etc it wouldnt be bad, because 2/3 of people on ipod forums are people (maybe like me) who dont have much of an idea and just want answers. I tried google and came up with lots of false searches, and with the amount of WRONG answers people give on forums, I thought I would take my chances here where I am likely to get some kind of answer, instead of being another 'noob' with 1 post on a jailbreak forum.

Also to the ipod dislikers, I didnt think they were much until I got one myself. When my mates first got them I thought, damn that looks nice, but I wouldnt want one myself, way too expensive for a small thing like that.

Well you can get the cheaper versions, but you dont get the beautiful UI, the sleek design, pretty amazing power for something smaller than your hand, hundreds of applications which are in different categories (novelty, games, hell ive even got facebook and MSN apps on there).

It is more than it looks, I didnt realise until I got one myself just how many uses and features these have.

it isnt just 'apple sux cause they live off a name and sell stuff for way too much money'. I know they arent cheap, the products, but you can easily see why theyre so expensive, theyre just so good!

The amazing power isn't necessary for an MP3 player and the sleek UI definitely isn't worth the extra $100. That being said, I have an iPod myself and I like it well enough. However, that doesn't mean there aren't cheaper, just as good products out there. The only reason Apple isn't dead is because people like sleek designs and are attracted by good marketing. Even if you hate everything Apple stands for, you have to admire their advertising strategies as they work incredibly well. Apple (like Blizzard) is extremely good at making stupid people ("the masses" or "the majority") want their stuff and are very good at making them willing to pay a lot to obtain it.

More on topic: I don't see anything wrong with jimbo posting here, it was a really small chance of a solution occurring, but there was still a chance.

What I am tired of is people just saying Apple products are good without giving any good reason.
I've used Macs before, and I am more so annoyed by their flexibility, and by that, I mean the lack of.
For the price they sell their products, you would expect something that offers a little more open ended options than what is really given.

I've been on Linux for half a year now and it's quite a fresh breath of air, where free, open source programs are encouraged.
I've seen some work given for free that would put both Windows and Mac paying programs to shame.

It's sad that Apple preys on ignorant and vulnerable customers like that, making them pay for expensive things that could easily be created, then again, they sort of deserve it.

Lets not start this again, everyone has their opinion whatever, and imo there should be no Mac hardware, only software, that can be run on any hardware, I don't see that EVER happening though.

Of course everyone has their own opinion, however, by discussing it people can refine their own opinion as well as help others see other perspectives. If everyone just had their opinion and never talked about it the world would be utter shit. The internet is all about voicing opinions and information, why would you want to stop that?

I don't want to stop people voicing their opinions, but I see where this is going, and I don't want to argue about Macs, and tbh since I haven't used one in a year and a bit my opinion on Mac vs Pc is leaning heavily to the Pc side, but being a Mac fanboy for 6+ years has it's effects .
