Graphics card issues!

Post by Pedsdude » April 21st, 2009, 7:25 pm

I recently bought and installed a Palit NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 for my computer.

When I turned my computer on, Vista (32-bit) automatically began to detect the new hardware, however it placed it under "Others" in Device Manager under the title of "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)".

I've installed multiple drivers - NVIDIA, Palit and the ones which came on the DVD with my card (which I'm pretty sure is the same one as the Palit website download), however none seem to do anything.

I've been in Device Manager and right clicked on the device and chosen to "Update Driver Software...", however, to no avail. Every time it says "Installing driver software..." for a number of minutes and then gives the following error:

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated - I've tried to get it working for the past 5 hours and have had no success. I've uninstalled the device and rebooted my computer multiple times but each time it gets placed under the same category.

Jeez Peds, you have extremely bad luck with computers!
that's a nice pic and all, but out of all the pictures you could have taken why'd you take a picture of a plant? :P

Because plants have some really small details. If a plant comes out nice in a photo, you have yourself a good camera ;)

Yes, but if boobs come out really well in a photo you have a picture of boobs

1. Try Disconnect and reconnect.
2. Replace with old card, and with card installed make sure you do a full driver uninstall to remove conflicts.
3. Cry in the corner.
4. Format (I know you enjoy this one)

Well, it's finally fucking working!

Tried yet another driver download exe and it seems to have done the job.

I've decided that I hate computers.
