beginner guide for glitchjumping on cod4
Posted: February 14th, 2008, 8:52 pm
lots of persons pm me about how i do the strafejumps, stackjumps and rpgjumps and how i know if those jumps are possible
so i decided to make a sort of guide of glitchjumping on cod4
strafejumping is a way of jumping that let you jump further.
Here is a strafejump tutorial for cod4 by atze: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDxOEVI1yus [it's german]
a strafejump tutorial made in cod2 but it's almost the same as cod4 made by codjumper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOEinzwFp10
Rpg jumping is for the extra boost in height.so if you normally can't get on a object like the jump i did @ bloc jumps the movie
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DwzqEfiQQ0 )
normally you can reach 40 units in height with 125fps with a rpg you can reach 55 units in height.
stackjumping is to get on a higher place with stacking on another person. You can reach 100 units in height with normal stacking. 120 units in height with rpgstacking and jumpstacking 130 units.
the units will say nothing to you I think but if you continue with glitchjumping in the call of duty series it would help later on.If you want to test if you jump is reachable you simple start your own server by putting /devmap mp_mapname
Why devmap?
devmap turns cheats on this is helpfull for highering your fps
devmap is also handy because you can turn on:
/noclip (you can fly if you fell off)
/give ammo (give ammo for rpg's(main reason))
/jump_height(see if a jump is reachable with the ammount of units)
that's why the units is important.
handy cfg commands(higher fps):
r_drawdecals 0
r_drawsun 0
r_drawwater 0
r_detail 0
cg_draw2d 0 (cheatprotected)
r_fullbright 1 (cheat protected)
fx_enable 0 (cheat protected)
r_fog 0 (cheat protected)
how can i see how many fps I got and why my fps is 60 all the time?
cg_drawfps 1
com_maxfps 125,250,333 those 3 are the best numbers to jump on
facts about 125,250,333fps
(125 allows you to jump 40 units, with 250 fps you can jump further although 125 is still the main and almost every jump is reachable with 125 and 333fps allows you to jump 45 units in height(this is for the smaller jumps and height between 41 to 45)
if your fps is still hanging close to the 60 go option>graphics>sync every frame NO
Hopefully this will help you with glitching in call of duty 4.
If you still have questions about jumping or glitching feel free to ask me on my youtubeaccount:codbarbaar or in this topic
