Noob Question :D

Hi, It sounds a bit stupid but i'm new to mapping, and want to know if there is a way to Cut a hole in the middle of a brush for say, a door frame etc. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Also: How do I resize stock xmodels?

the best way is using the clipper tool. I think you use C to activate it, or just press the clipper button on the menu at the top. Then, select the brush you want the door in. Simply click once at one edge of the door, then a little ways along the door click again. This creates a cutting line through the brush that passes through the two points you selected. Press shift+enter to separate the two pieces across the line. Repeat the process for the other two sides of the door. Then simply shift+click to select the remaining piece where your door is going to be and press backspace to delete it.

To change a xmodel size:

add a new key and a value of the new size in x y z format
modelscale_vec
2 2 0.5 (example)

This will make the model 2 times fatter, but also a half smaller


you can also use this
modelscale
2 (example)

This will just make it 2 times bigger
