Compiler Sucks...

I've started compiling a big map w/ .bsp, vis, and lighting, it goes through bsp, gets to vis and starts doing the 0...1...2...3... thing, it does that twice, then on the third time it takes forever. It was on 2 for about an hour and its been on 3 for about 4 hours. Any idea whats wrong?

Vis, that can take awhile. Make everything detail except for brushes used with portals.

already have, do you remember how long did the vis take you when you compiled stronghold?

I didn't compile vis on your map, would've taken ages :P

ok...well this is relating to that topic I posted on cj helper forums, so you can get why I made this topic :wink:

i'll try an overnight compile and see if it finishes.

a ten hour compile got it to the five....no vis it is...

Well, i compiled a map with vis once a time, and after 24 hours it was still compiling the vis, and it was on a high end machine! Just compile without :D

VIS is important for MP maps!

Not sure exactly what it does though to be honest, but it is important.

i need my computer. Unless you are willing to wait for the 48 hour compile with vis on your computer there will be no vis.
