Ok, I've seen alot of good tutorials on map making of which I plan to use in future. (some of which are on this site).

What I want to know.. is how to start.. Take it as if my computer is blank.. (just installed cod2) but that's it..

I know you need a program called Radiant.. but thats about all I know..

If some detailed explanation could be posted in reply I would be most greatful.

I'm not really home in mapping for CoD, but the main programs you can use are (my guess):
CoDRadiant or GTKRadiant
Try googling for them. But I'd wait for a more experienced CoD-mapper comes in and advise which program is better.

Download and install the cod 2 map/mod tools: http://callofduty.filefront.com/file/Co ... ools;61008
Make sure you have the .net framwork installed, as its needed to run the tools. If you don't have it you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com.

Once you got it installed and running ok, go to http://modsonline.com and check out the mapping tutorials.

In the video he tries to place a character spawn point. To do this he right clicks and goes to "mp" and choses from a list of 6 i think.. I only have one.. None of the tdm, dm etc are in my list.. How do i get them there? Thanks.

I think it can be caused by maps or mods in your main folder, if I remember correctly.

in the mp folder there was only "global intermission" which i didnt understand so i posted on here first.. as there wasn't any other options. ye map saved as mp_<mapname>.

and u are mapping with and clear mainfolder?

My main folder has downloaded maps of servers but nothing else.. does that affect it? Those things took a long time to download lol.
