You will need the appropriate skybox for a night time feel, something with clouds, dark sky, moon etc. Also, you will need to create a worldspawn for the natural light and edit their keys and values. Here's a tutorial:

Try the worldspawn of wetwork

Wet Work (mp_cargoship)
"RadiosityScale" "2"
"contrastGain" "0.15"
"diffusefraction" "0.15"
"_color" "0.5 0.5 0.7"
"sunlight" "1.3"
"sundirection" "-25 315 0"
"sundiffusecolor" "0.5 0.5 0.7"
"suncolor" "0.5 0.6 1.000000"
"ambient" ".1"

Lol......the reason you're skybox is day is because of the sky you're using. The neuville sky is daytime. Select all the mp_neuville surfaces and make them into burnville or mp_chateau_night or some nighttime sky.

As for the model selection it should be a button on the toolbar, it looks like an E with a red circle around it canceling it out. Select it or deselect it and it should work.

Also just a note on Cronk's worldspawn settings, since you're using the sky mp_neuville i'm going to assume you're working with cod1 unless you made a custom sky. His worldspawn settings are for a cod4 stock map. They should still work on cod1 though, and might give you some nice settings, although one or two of the actual settings such as RadiosityScale may not work.

CoD1 works on decimal colors, so your colours must be "0-255" not "0-1".
To change you colours, just multiply them all by 255.

Here download this and put it in your CoD/main folder.
http://rrmsweb.com/sub/UserTextures.zip

Now select the faceside only of your skybox and go to textures. then sky.
Look for pegasusnight. It will be red and black. Different from the others.

Then deselect the face sides and select the entire skbox and give it these values....

sunlight
1

ambient
0.26

_color
1 1 1

Make sure you put a space after each 1 for the _color

This always works out nice for my night sky's. Hope it helps!

If you can't see your xmodels maybe you forgot to open up the pak0.pk3 in your main and put the xmodel folder inside your main folder?
