I'm pretty sure it isn't possible to fix. While watching your video I had a revelation as to what elevators actually are. You know when you are outside a map and go inside a terrain patch and start kind of floating around inside the brush? The same thing occurs with an elevator. You are positioning yourself in the perfect place to actually partially go into the wall. Thus, when you stand up it repeats your last action/movement over and over again (you standing up) until you are free of the wall. The only possible solution would be extending the detection range for the player's origin to see if he can stand up or not. I'm not sure if that is possible though.

I've tryed to think of a logical reason as to why you elevate, and that seems the most logical so far ^^
