Beh, it's a slim chance you'll get chosen. IW probably has a stack of prepared beta-testers and has 2, maybe 3 slots left for jumpers to fill in. I mean, think about it, what's financially better: Paying a flight ticket to some kid from Nowheresland or recruit some dudes from their staff/off the street. I dunno, that's my view of it although it could be entierly wrong.
They don't have to fly us there, they can send versions of the game to test which would cost near to nothing to do. Also, the testers they have aren't likely to be as experienced jumps as the people in this community - after all, we've been able to find jumps in their maps for all the games they've released, so clearly the testers they have aren't managing to fully test jumping spots.Rez|l wrote:Beh, it's a slim chance you'll get chosen. well theres a couple of solutions. I believe theres more spots, probably 7 or 8 (i may be wrong) but they could use encrypted password thingmajigs whenever you start the game, and like 1 or 2 random servers to find glitches on which only the glitch team has passwords for. Also they will definately only give it to a selected bunch because someone could randomly say theyre the best jumper ever just so they can play the game early.

I would imagine they would follow up on people to make sure they are as experienced as they say. After all, if they do fly people to LA they're not going to fly someone purely on their word.jimbojetuk wrote:someone could randomly say theyre the best jumper ever just so they can play the game early

True. However IW probably has gained much experience through the series(cod1 was very glitchy. coduo even more but that was due to the fact they released it in a hurry and such, in cod2 you already start to see improvement(mp_harbor, mp_farmhouse, etc.) Moreover, through Internet there's always the ability to patch the game if we still manage to find jumps that the original beta-testers did not find. Case-in-point: cod2 1.3 death-triggers. Not that I'm a fan of it, but it's an effective way to debug the maps. They don't have to fly us there, they can send versions of the game to test which would cost near to nothing to do. They would rather fix the problems pre-release than have to work on them after and then have to release a patch for major game exploits. They will almost certainly have to release a patch after release to fix unforeseen issues, so they would much rather remove these exploits beforehand to allow more time to fix problems after the release.Rez|l wrote:Moreover, through Internet there's always the ability to patch the game if we still manage to find jumps that the original beta-testers did not find. If you failed to notice, the last few days IW has been at the E3 event, so I can guarantee you wont get a response during this.Gagarin wrote:IW and 402 don't answer an email at 3 days.... grrrrrr
You also have to remember the amount of emails someone such as 402 will be receiving and the amount of these emails which will be similar to yours.
Give it time, if you don't get a reply after a week, send a follow up, to check whether your email arrived.
