I don't consider the Asians eating dog joke scenario racism at all. In fact, I don't mind any jokes which are of a racist nature unless they're attacking a specific person. In my mind, as long as I would be able to accept the joke if it was related to and directed at me, I don't have a problem laughing at it.

See, I find that joke funny (even though in a sense, it is wrong), but who's suffering from it? Nobody I say it to will have been in a concentration camp (other than perhaps on a historical visit!), so in my mind it's not as though they can say it's in bad taste or offends them personally. It is dark humour, but humour nevertheless.

I've yet to hear a joke that's personally made me upset, and don't think anyone could say a joke that would upset me (unless a family member dies in future and somebody jokes about it, but that's exactly the kind of joke I wouldn't make myself as it's a direct joke at someone's misfortune directed towards them!).

I wouldn't say eating dogs is any wronger than eating any other animal. It feels 'wrong' seeing as they're owned as pets, I agree, but in the grand scheme of things it's no wronger than eating chicken or lamb. People keep pigeons as pets, so is it wrong to eat pigeons?
