I know, but I've heard that even in UO vehicles weren't used/ not liked (except the jeep), but I can't judge on that since I've never played UO :s.Lev!athan wrote:@Infinite
it depends how the added vehicles, if it's like in coduo it's ok and you can disable them if you want to
the problem is that you need maps for vehicles not like waw
The graphics are improved from CoD4, but not much. I never said that they were shithelium wrote:What the fuck are you on aboutSame music as COD4? Shit graphics?
The game is nowhere near finished, so graphics and sounds are something that you shouldn't even think about yet
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

I felt that CoD4 was back, not that MW2 was coming :s. I'm hoping that you're right that they are using filler music because although I loved the CoD4 music, I do not think that it should be reused in MW2. If anything, they should make a sort of remix of it.JDogg wrote:Well yeah that too, but didn't you guys feel like, it's back, when you heard the CoD4 music?, besides for all we know they haven't started on music yet, and were using it as a filler.helium wrote:What the fuck are you on aboutSame music as COD4? Re: Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay from E3
Well, I hope there will be an option to add/remove tanks, but I d love to see some ski doo in mp. Also, some jeeps could be fun, but considering trailer, I would say the only vehicule theres gonna be is ski doo, well but i cant waitInfinite wrote:This isn't turning out as good as I would have expected. I also noticed that the music was exactly the same as some of the music from CoD4. The graphics don't too much improved from CoD4. They didn't change the intro to missions (the same green block text). It basically looks like a modded CoD4 (like WaW in a way).
On the upside of this, they have obviously added quite a few things. They added vehicles (hopefully not in the multiplayer at all). They added new weapons (sexy glock). The NPC movement looks like it had some work done with it (it might just be me, but the movement at 6:12 in the video looks extremely cool). And it also appears that they added more interactivity into the singleplayer game (swinging the pike things at the beginning is completely done by the player I've heard?).
Overall, it looks like a well done mod of CoD4. At this point, I'd give it a 7/10 from what I've seen. They still have 5 months to work on this, so I expect it to improve at least some.

Whoever told you vehicles suck in mp on uo was obviously a retard. Of course, many of the maps like Kursk and Italy relied too heavily on vehicles. However, maps like Kharkov and Cassino could function perfectly fine with tanks and, in fact, it added more variety and intensity to the gameplay. As long as they use the format used in UO then it will work out fine (This means tanks can be killed in one life by an infantry soldier!!! (fucking Treyarch))

I think it would be kinda stupid to use tank, if a normal infantry man could kill you easily tbh.Soviet wrote:Whoever told you vehicles suck in mp on uo was obviously a retard. Never played UO, you have no opinion.
Re: Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay from E3
I agree soviet, UO definitely got it right. However I thought tanks were a little too overpowered in the BAS gametype so I always liked playing on BAS no tanks servers.

nah was fun to hunt tanks on maps, and well you could easier destroy 'em as in waw; but best moment I remember was on rhinevalley: friend shot a jeep from the castle over the whole map with a panzerfaust - it was really awesome to see the rocket flying for 20 secs and then boom
THAT HANDS WERE NOT TRACED!

It really is a matter of taste. For example, I don't like heavy vehicles like tanks etc in games because they do not require much skill and slow the game down etc, while others like to use tanks. I never played UO, but I guess that it was like any other game; you can't take a tank out with normal firepower such as SMGs, snipers etc.Soviet wrote:Whoever told you vehicles suck in mp on uo was obviously a retard. And as I said, most experienced/skilled players prefer close combat without heavy vehicles while other players who are less experienced prefer it.

Re: Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay from E3
Cool video. I liked that they atleast used some of the CoD4 music but I hope they add in many more. Storyline seems to be epic. The UAV on the gun is awesome, I hope the radar will be attached to guns like that although might be tricky for example on sniper rifles. Also, did anyone notice there was no HUD ?
Diving, Mountain Climbing, Driving a vehicle you controll yourself (Not some boring tank). Nice change of scenery aswell. And Soap Mctavish is back, can see his face now. How awesome is that ?

My former clan and I were at the top of two ladders and beat Area 51 and other extremely good clans many times. Beyond that, no one could beat me on Kharkov or Cassino. My average ratio on those maps was 6:1 using a Kar98 or a Mosin Nagant and never getting in a tank. I went 115/16 in Cassino one time using only a Kar98, Panzerfausts (for tanks), and a Luger. I've won countless duels wielding a Kar98 against a guy with a PPSH. I almost never lost in a 1v1 against a tank when I was on foot.helium wrote:And as I said, most experienced/skilled players prefer close combat without heavy vehicles while other players who are less experienced prefer it.
What I'm trying to say is that I'm an experienced player on UO. Sure, the pace of a large UO map like Kharkov with tanks wasn't exactly 32 man Carentan, but it took a lot of skill and cunning. Tanks became these mobile objects which, while almost impossible to fight head on, were flat out dead if you flanked them. It added an entirely new dimension to the game, the idea that you have to avoid tanks while flanking, as well as facing off against infantry.
I remember so many exhilarating times hiding prone behind a little wall hoping the guy in the tank would notice I was there when he drove by, then, as soon as he did, jumping out and blowing him up in a single well aimed panzerschreck shot.
Sure, tanks shouldn't be in all maps, but I would pay $100 for MW2 if it tanks (and jeeps) like they were in UO.

I loved getting perfect scores in Foy, when facing a team using mainly tanks... Did a few rounds without getting killed at all.. pretty fun.Soviet wrote:My former clan and I were at the top of two ladders and beat Area 51 and other extremely good clans many times. However the heavy tanks sucked. Especially in maps like kursk, where they just went camping ontop of the hill.

I agree, heavy tanks were shit.
