Why, if they were no consoles, we'd have no one to put shit on, and they'd charge for PC DLC's, which is starting to happen via Steam.
WTF are you talking about? Steam is a fantastic service. You buy the game, and they keep it on record forever. You download it whenever you want and can even play it without being online and connected to steam. They treat PC users better than any other company I know. Did you know Team Fortress 2 has released 4 huge updates for various classes in the game, giving new weapons as well as about 8 new maps? Do you know how much all that costs? Nothing. In fact, when those releases occur they create a 'free weekend' for the game in which any user can play the game for free. They of course also have the Orange Box, the best deal in gaming history. And all those updates? Not available for consoles. Steam is fantastic, so learn what you insult before you insult it.

Steam used to be a bad company and a bad product in general, but nowadays, they have improved a lot. But, like KS, I prefer boxes and manuals to digital downloads.

WTF are you talking about? I love steam, and I love Valve, all I said is that PC DLC'S aren't always free, I read on Destructoid that a game that released a DLC pack was charging for it, and it makes sense to me that Steam is the only service that can really charge for a DLC, if you buy a game like CoD, how would Activision get the money from you, with Steam that's already set up. And I'll say it again, I have nothing against Steam, it's the best thing in the world for a gamer imo, but I just think that it's only a matter of time before PC DLC packs cost money, but it's only my opinion.

Well for some games DLCs already cost money. Patches are always free.

DLC for Oblivion or Fallout for example cost money.

Patches should always be free, my understanding of a patch, is a bunch of fixes for mistakes in the game. Downloadable content is a cool idea, but unless there is some GOOD content in the DLC, it shouldn't be worth anything, Soviet brings up a good point in his post about TF2 and their updates, they don't charge for them, yet they are just as good if not better as a DLC that costs money.

I don't understand why they aren't letting people pay for TF2. It's such a good game :D

I suppose it's not really Valve's thing. I think they actually care more about making a good game than making money. Just look at the Orange Box, $50 and it has Half-Life 2 (according to PC Gamer, "the best game ever made"), Half-Life 2 Episode 1 (which got many action game of the year awards), Half-Life 2 Episode 2 (obviously more awards), Portal (considered by many to be the best puzzle game ever made), and Team Fortress 2 (one of the best and most balanced MP games of all time). Compare that to Halo 3 which cost $60 on release and (imo) it fucking blows ass. Plus, with all the 50% off weekend deals on Valve games, they obviously care more about the gamer than making shitloads of money, and even if you don't like Valve's games you gotta love them for that.

The orange box has drastically decreased in price it's crazy.

It's 30 euros now for almost NO money. I think I might get that just for TF2 (I kind of started to like Steam when I got L4D).
