I don't see what's wrong with being paid to game. It's the same as a job and anyone earning money from doing something they enjoy - fair play to them.
Who cares if people have good tactics for maps? It's the same as a boxer training for a fight. You can't say after if you get knocked out "That's unfair he was fitter than I am".

I just find it cheap, gaming is meant to be a social relaxed activity, Im not implying you cant try but when people know the exact pixel to pinpoint a grenade throw, I just think theres better things to be doing.

Well gaming can be done because its a way of making people use up spare time, have fun, kick back and just enjoy it while it last, before work the next day. What I DO find annoying is when people (like the CSS example) who deprive their social life to train 1337 skills.Neon wrote:Not gaming for one.jimbojetuk wrote: I just think theres better things to be doing.
Ive come to a late new years resolution to get trimmed up and healthy in the new year. I had the burnley trip so this had to be postponed really but I'm trying to not totally give up gaming because i find it enjoyable, but cut back a hell of a lot. I mean, I was usually getting home from school, 15 mins getting drink/snack, upstairs, gaming/PC for 2 hours, food, gaming until bed, then television till about 1 am. I am/was (hopefully was) very addicted, and as soon as i sit in the chair i get bored easily, but still dont want to leave.
I think gaming should be a recreation, not a lifestyle. Think about real life, what do people choose as their careers, electricians, secretaries, gamers? It isnt natural. We're meant to WORK for a living, not play (footballers are gay by the way)

I almost had a heart attack when one of my xfire friends was playing/racked up 2000 hours on this game.

for a second I thought it was going to be a video of WoW
I agree with you that gaming should be casual, but the individual should be able to do what they want with it, similar to how we took a different spin on CoD and started jumping. There are some people who spend their whole lives studying rockets and end up being astronauts. For some people gaming is their one true obsession in life, and that is fine. I would never dedicate that much time to a game, but understand some people want to.

I don't dedicate near as much time as most WoW players, or even dedicated players on other games. I don't play in any ladders, I'm not in a clan, in fact, I go through stretches where I won't play a game for a few weeks.

Ive been thinking about new years and ive decided to cut back on PC/gaming time..
I really dont miss it, honest

its totally different not having to piss about with computers as much, just to sit down and watch TV , although maybe a bit simple is actually quite relieving.
